It’s Friday!

This weather has been crazy, hasn’t it? While I obviously enjoy going outside during warmer temperatures, something doesn’t feel right. I’ve only lived in NH for seven years, but I know that 75 degrees in November isn’t normal. Nevertheless, I’ve been enjoying this mix of seasons by enjoying some masked walks with friends and cooking a lot of Fall veggies. Do you like to can for the winter? I loved pickled beets and have been trying my hand at making them with help from my canning book. They don’t taste as good as those made by the professionals, but decent enough to have at the dinner table. In other news, let’s see what’s been happening around the web…

Not going to lie, I’ve been guilty of this habit while hiking or walking along trails. I’ve only recently stopped because a) bananas don’t naturally grow in NH and b) I don’t want to hurt any animals. I’ve learned it’s best to place leftovers in your bag and compost at home

Unless you’ve been on some type of remote retreat, you know there will be a new president come January 20, 2021. Here are 10 climate executive actions Biden says he will take on his first day in office

In local NH news, some areas are expanding their landfill capacity, but not everyone is happy about that decision. Looking to reduce your trash? Hannah offers a lot of suggestions. It also may seem otherwise, but NH is still experiencing a drought. Here are lots of ways to save water.

A little off-topic, but I enjoyed this glimpse into how families with small children are surviving during this pandemic. Not an easy time, but an opportunity to get outside more often and focus on simple blessings

And here’s a recap of other topics Hannah and I discussed this week on GreenLifeNH!
